Ponderings

Some things I have learned. While reading the Book of Mormon, in Ether, I saw how the people were totally wiped out. They were wicked. They followed satan. Did satan succor them? Did satan strengthen them? No. He laughed as an entire civilization was destroyed. Throughout the Book of Mormon, we see that when people follow Christ, He does strengthen them, protect them, succor them. So who do you want to follow - Christ who will strengthen you, or satan who will laugh at you.
Another learning - In the testimony of the eight witnesses, it says that the witnesses handled and hefted all of the plates that Joseph Smith translated. The reality of the Book of Mormon, of the gospel just struck me. The plates were real, tangible. If they could be handled and hefted, then the angel Moroni is also tangible, real, flesh and bone. If he is flesh and bone, then so is the Savior and so is Heavenly Father. The gospel is true. Amazing.
One more observation - Heavenly Father must be the most humble of all. Think of it, the Master of the Universe allows us to come to Him any time, any place, any where. He is never too busy for us. Do you know of any other King who allows people to enter His presence...at all?
